Default Getting ready for next season

Through out deer season I sat in my 4X4 box stand wishing I could see more of the area, and my stand had more room inside. So I started thinking of a new box stand design I wanted to use. So I thought of several different designs that would give me the best view of the area and comfort during a long day of sitting in the stand. Here is what I came up with, a 5'6" wide octagon box stand

    Framing the octagon frame

    Installed the plywood

Painted the stand and installed the windows and corrugated roofing.

On the inside I put carpet on the walls, added plexiglass fold down windows and a shelf.

Added legs and cross braces and set the platform in place

Installing the box stand on the platform.

And here is the finished stand all setup and ready for next season.

    Those pics didn't work Chance.

The box looks real good. Like the carpet on the walls, we painted our walls inside to break up the inside and keep it dark. Got to do some off season maintenance on our box blind, squirrels pushed out plexiglass and made a nest under the carpet.

Planning on building a box type stand looking over the bottom here sometime before next season opens.

Looks like a real condo Chance! Just bring a pillow and lunch and you got a good place for an afternoon nap.
