Permits and New Pistols Coming

Recommended Posts

Once the wife and I get our pistol permits. Already started the process. I've got a Sig Sauer P226 Elite Scorpion 9mm coming for me and a Beretta PX4 Storm Compact 9mm coming for my wife. Any one have any thoughts on these? Just curious.

I hate to say this but I have a feeling you will have plenty of time to sort this out before your permit is granted. My county, for example, isn't even handing out applications at this time because they are so back logged. They are projecting at least a one year wait from the time an application is submitted to the time it is ready to pick up.

I wish you luck.

going through the process i've been keeping up on the delays. in this county the delays are mostly related to finger printing that's months out. fortunately we're passed that. we're basically waiting to take the course the first weekend in May. they're very busy still as with every county. we've looked at them and those seem to be a pretty good fit for us without actually shooting them.

I sure don't see anything wrong with your choices. Both are quality handguns.

I have some cheap ones and good ones. There is a big difference.

I have a Jennings .22 I call the jamming Jennings. I have spent hours working the action and filing the magazine. I've got it from jamming on every other shot to about one in ten. LOL

It is nothing I'd want to go to battle with. When I got my permit a long time ago you had to buy a handgun before you could apply for a permit. Hence I bought the cheapest I could find. $45 brand new in the box. You couldn't pick it up until you got your permit. I even got the deluxe model with nickel plating and fake pearl handle grips. Cute but useless.

another old original post. so here's the scoop. it took me 8 months to get my pistol permit along with my wife. I really like the Sig 226 scorpion. Ended up getting a Ruger Mark III Hunter 22LR. I now shoot that much more than any other. Especially right now as I'm on a traveling NRA bullseye pistol league, shooting throughout this region of NY.
