sat yesterday for a bit in both the morning and evening, had a doe come in and I was prepared to take her if she presented a shot then I heard some subtle grunting a ways behind her and she turned and trotted off before offering a shot, turns out the grunting was a little skipper spike that ended up coming right to my stand, I passed him up.. would have been some good venison though! Oh well, still a lot of season left..

Congrats on the buck Kevin! I’m on stand right now, took the climber tonight to a new spot where I saw a few pop out of the woods the other night, right close to where I shot my buck last year. Hoping for a repeat!e3964b558ab19e377fe9df538047bbb3.jpg

Nothing here... had atleast 6 doe/fawn come in about 80 yards in front of me, thought they were staging for a bit before they came out to the field, ended up just wandering off deeper into the woods feeding... different pattern than the other night.

Thanks! I’m still hard at it down here. Haven’t seen much here lately. I think the moon has them moving at night.

Headed to camp with a buddy meet Wednesday. We’re hunting a new piece of public land. Should be a blast!

Nothing from camp but does and small bucks.

Supposed to rain all day tomorrow but should be able to get out Sunday.

Headed back to camp next Friday though.

Well I’m just about done here, season ends for me next Monday and I’m heading out of town Friday morning so I might try and get out one last time tomorrow... very disappointing season for me, had a few good encounters, chose to pass a couple small ones early in the season and had two close encounters with mature deer just no ethical shot opportunity.. deer sightings the last few weeks have been very minimal. Oh well, guess it’ll be a long wait for me until next season.. maybe we’ll get some good cold weather and I’ll get to do a little hard water fishing. It’s been fun, hope to see everyone in next years.
