Team 3

Recommended Posts

So the fun begins!  Yeah, I think Team 4 is the one to beat but every time out hunting we might just shoot the buck of a lifetime.  I've been out elk hunting since the 1st of Sept. with not much action.  Have been seeing very few deer in the mountains but if a good one gives me a shot I might just take it.  I haven't shot a deer during bow season in a long time as I'm busy chasing bugling bulls.  November is usually my deer time as still hunting and tracking in the snow is what I enjoy most but I do have some treestand time planned for later this month.

Good hunting guys!

Alright, alright, alright.

I have a few weeks to go before bow season opens up here in Illinois. I still have some prep work to do before the season gets here, but definitely ready for October and some cool fall air.

Wow that was fast lol. Congrats! Looks like a nice big doe.

I need to get up to the farm for some last minute preparations, but it's hard to get too excited when it's still 93 degrees. It's been an oven here for the last few days, and looks like we still have a few more days to go before it cools off a little.

Hey guys.  Sorry to be late to check in.  I hunted the first week of September in Kentucky and passed several nice velvet bucks waiting on a bigger one.  I am hoping to get back later this season.   I will be in a stand next on October 1st when the New York season opens.

Filled my second doe tag this eve., double lung, heard her crash, same stand as first doe.  be horn hunting from here on in.

Way to go!  Got some good eats there for sure.  Doe tags are hard to come by here, although 80 miles south you can get multiple B tags to hunt on private property in the flathead valley, but unless you have family or friends who own property there you would be hard pressed to find a place to hunt.

I'm still concentrating on elk (no luck yet) with a watchful eye out for a big buck.  I've been rained on every morning for the past week.  Tuesday I sat in my ladder stand overlooking a creek crossing and watched a big bull moose pass by.  The moose rut is just getting started and he was probably on the prowl.  It was 28 degrees when I got out of my truck that morning and the rain was freezing on the stand which made it a bit challenging.  Today is a rest day after covering ~15 miles yesterday in search of some elk and from all the sign I've found so far, it looks like I'm always a couple of weeks too late.  We should get some snow in the high country in the coming week and maybe that will help.
