What was your favorite bow you ever owned?

All of them! How can I forget the first deer I killed with that little 40lb Darton? Or how happy I was with pop's hand-me-down whitetail hunter? or my high country I hunted with for so many years, or my SQ-32 that I now shoot that is far faster and smoother than any i ever had, or the next bow I'll pick up this year that I haven't decided on that will be faster and smoother than that one........ :D

If you get a new bow and don't like it better than the old one, you really may not have thought it through very well lol.

It's a toss up between two bows. my first bow, buckmaster btr32 from walmart, i used to take my first deer and predator (firsts with a bow that is). i really like the bow i have now (TechHunter Elite), because it's a much better bow and i've taken my biggest bow buck to date with it. sooooo... it's one of those.

Oh man! I've had:

Wing wooden longbow

Ben Pearson fibreglass SuperJet recurve

Browning Explorer I recurve

Browning Folding Hunter recurve

Browning Fury I recurve

Bear Custom Kodiak T/D recurve

Bear Super Magnum 48 recurve

Ben Pearson 'Ol Ben 5000 longbow

Bear Alaskan 6Wheel compound

Darton WH300 compound

Browning Safari compound

Onieda Eagle compound

Bear Alaskan 2Cam compound

Jennings Woody compound

PSE Polaris compound

Mathews Q2XL compound

I've probably had a couple others but really can't remember what they were.

I'd say the bow that I had the most fun with was the Wing longbow, because I was only 10 to 12 years old at the time. Everytime I headed out into the fields with it, it was like an adventure all over again. I'd hunt everything from grasshoppers to toads to any groundhogs stupid enough to stay up for me to make a stock on and get a shot at.

I had many bows over the years, and many different makes. I was the type of person that would up-grade every 2 years. But it's when Mathew's came out with the solocam style of bow, that idea sold me. I bought the new Mathew's Ultra-Light years ago and shot that bow for almost 10 years before finally up-grading to their Switchback model a few years back. Another thing I learned: Quality equipment brings much better re-sale value when it comes time to sell it.

  • 2 weeks later...

This is a great question and I have owned over 20 bows in my time as a bowhunter and tournament shooter. Out of all the bows I've owned from Martin, Bear, Pearson, PSE, High Country, CSS, and Ross, I'd have to go with my hunting bow I had for 9 years. The CSS Challenger, I killed 22 deer with that bow, three of those being buck over 110" inches and one of them making P&Y. Now my Cardiac's are rising fast and furious on the CSS, these bows are fantastic little shooters.
